Role Description: The Inpatient Coder is responsible for accurately assigning all reportable diagnoses and procedures, for complete and accurate coding of a medical record, per Official Coding and Reporting Guidelines.
Schedule: This is a remote, full-time, 40 hour per week, position. General hours of work are Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
Requirements and Education:
· AHIMA credential (CCS, RHIT or RHIA) required.
· Minimum 3 years of acute inpatient hospital coding experience in a large trauma and academic hospital required.
· Recent experience coding for a large level I trauma hospital highly preferred.
· Experience with electronic health records (i.e., EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, etc.) and 3M or TruCode encoder software required.
· Ability to work independently in a remote setting required.
