Mystic Cruises is an ocean cruise division belonging to Mystic Invest, a Portuguese privately held financial holding with more than 25 years of experience in the shipping sector.
Our ambition is to launch several luxury expedition ships and become a relevant player in the cruise industry. World Explorer is the first vessel in our fleet of ocean-going ships.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Port Operations:
- Coordinate and guarantee itineraries are delivered as planned by ensuring feasibility of port operations.
- Remain in constant communication with local partners regarding port bookings, PDA updates, clearance procedures, port requirements & COVID Protocols.
- Influence the booking of the port calls and berth allocations to ensure they align with the intended cruise concept.
- Work closely with Itinerary Planner Specialist & Management to anticipate potential challenges on any certain port/region.
- Build and develop good relationship with agents and ports to ensure fluent communication dealing with day-to-day challenges.
- Coordinate with the appointed agent special requests from other Departments (Logistics, Shorex, Technical and other).
- Conduct port inspections to determine adequacy of port and berthing facilities, to evaluate safety and accessibility for the vessels and guests.

Port Cost:
- Establish Monthly Port Cost Reporting, monitoring budget vs actual figures. Work close with Port Cost Controller to analyse deviations.
- Anticipate to port tariff increases by ensuring updated information is available.
- Build a Data Base for the company to be able to access for any analysis purpose.
- Carry out Ad Hoc Port Cost efficiencies analysis and lessons learned business cases.

Port Agent Appointment:
- Work close with Management to revise agent appointments and detect cost efficiencies.
- Responsible for contact maintenance
Qualifications
.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Economics, Accounting or similar.
- Minimum 3-year work experience in similar positions, preferable within the Cruise Industry or Port Agencies.
- Experience in Expedition cruise market would be an advantage.
- Confident working with diverse teams and flexible to adapt to an always changing environment and to industry challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English is required for this role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and Marine Exchange Programm Knowledge.
