The Progressive Procurement Project Team in our Policy Partnerships Puni has a fixed term vacancy for Advisor - Supplier Pou.
The Progressive Procurement Project Team has been tasked with implementing the progressive procurement policy. The policy aims to increase supplier diversity in government procurement by promoting changes in government processes and behaviours to be a lever to achieve greater economic outcomes for Māori.
The mahi of the team includes the following:
- Supplier pou focuses on lifting the capability of Māori businesses to participate in government procurement. Support pathways to pakihi Māori is through the successful targeted capability uplift and local intermediary connect programme.
- Government agencies - focusing on engaging with government agencies, lifting agencies - capability to reduce barriers to Māori business participating in government procurement with the goal of enabling long term behavioural change in government procurement processes.
- Data and Insights which focusses on the progressive procurement reporting government agencies are required to undertake, managing the information, building the insights gained across the project into the programme of work, including identifying barriers to Māori businesses participation in government procurement.
- Project management including relationships and communications, governance, policy and one-off projects, systems and tools.
- An adaptable team player experienced in working in high performing physical and virtual cross functional teams.
- Basic level of understanding and direct experience of Government processes, systems and tools, including grant funding and/or government procurement.
- Passion for knowledge, open to learning new things and comfortable with a changing environment.
- Comfort in working in a tikanga/kaupapa Māori environment, a degree of fluency in Te Reo Māori is of benefit.
- Ability to identify, build and actively manage significant relationships, valuing diverse perspectives and experiences.
- Understand the relevance of the Treaty of Waitangi to the work being undertaken.
- Well-developed communication skills, both oral and written.
