This is a shared position between Brookview, Eason, and Woodland Hills Elementary Schools.
Position Criteria:
- Valid Iowa teaching license, required
- K-8 Music endorsement, required
Performance Criteria:
- Must exhibit high moral values and be able to serve as a favorable example to young people
- Flexible, highly motivated, and enthusiastic about working with children
- Proven experience in differentiated instruction in the general music classroom
- Solid understanding and proven application of the Waukee Framework for Meeting the Needs of All Students
- A firm understanding and belief in the workshop model of instruction
- Successful experience in collaborating with music colleagues and growing each other professionally in a Professional Learning Community format
- Successful experience in collaborating with general education teachers in supporting content areas within music
- Evidence of strong organizational skills
- Desire for growth is evident through personal and professional goals and willingness to collaborate with instructional coach and building/district experts
- Record of recent staff development/on-going educating and knowledge of current research
- Understanding of formative assessment and evidence of using to adapt to individual needs of students of all ability levels
- Evidence of effective routines and procedures that lead to a positive classroom environment that promotes student achievement
- Articulate in oral and written communications
- Knowledge of and experience with using current technology to enhance learning
- Experience with diverse learners: ELP, ESL, Sp. Ed., At-Risk, etc.
- Proven communication with parents and families
