Job Description


PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Manage and implement digital advocacy strategies with the goal of recruiting new supporters for the organization, raising awareness for our issues, and engaging supporters in Oxfam campaigns. Manages lead generation and campaign ads, produces advocacy email messages, and maintains advocacy website components.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In collaboration with digital agency, manage and implement paid advertising efforts to bring in new email and text message subscribers for the organization and achieve advocacy goals, coordinating closely with digital team and agency to ensure all organization ads are coordinated and supporting one another. Create chaperoned email list buys, Facebook ads, YouTube ads, and leverage other ad platforms to support list growth and campaign objectives.
  • Set up and maintain organization’s Google and Microsoft Grant ads programs working in collaboration with digital agency and content marketing staff.
  • Conceptualize and set up digital advocacy forms and petitions to support paid advertising, events, and other supporter recruitment efforts.
  • Set up digital advocacy forms on Oxfam websites ensuring codes and workstreams are applied for proper performance tracking.
  • Set up all advocacy email messages including creating conditional content for specific audience segments to ensure Oxfam supporters receive personized experiences.
  • Set up and track all A/B email advocacy tests with a goal of optimizing open, click, and conversion rates.
  • Ensure all advocacy forms and email action alerts are optimized for user experience, analytic tracking, and properly reviewed for quality assurance.
  • Ensure all advocacy and cultivation emails are sent to proper audience segments, including segmentation between 501C3 and 501C4 audiences.
  • Write action alerts and action emails as needed for current and potential Oxfam supporters.
  • Manage and implement advocacy components across Oxfam America and OAAF websites, closely coordinating with digital team and website working group to ensure components are up to date and effectively recruiting new activists for the organization.
  • In coordination with the Digital Marketing and Engagement Coordinator, create advocacy promotions, lightboxes, and other components on Oxfam websites.
  • Coordinate with Public Engagement; Alliances, Advocacy, and Policy team; and other digital team members to ensure effective implementation of digital strategies across channels.
  • As needed, track data related to digital advocacy and cultivation efforts to assist in performance analysis and reporting including ROI analysis of paid advertising efforts.
  • Assist in other digital team tasks as needed to raise awareness about Oxfam America, our issues, and campaigns and engage supporters in our work.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • 3-5 years of digital marketing and advocacy experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Experience running paid advertising campaigns including Facebook/Instagram ads, Google, YouTube and google grant implementation, Microsoft ads, and other efforts to recruit new supporters to join organizations.
  • Experience implementing digital advocacy campaigns across channels, including A/B email testing.
  • Experience with eCRMs and email marketing platforms, such as HubSpot or Engaging Networks.
  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize workload and multi-task.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical staff.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Collaborative work style to effectively work within cross functional teams to deliver high-quality digital communications on schedule.
  • Passion for communication as a means to fight the injustice of poverty.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of and experience with communicating social justice issues for awareness-building, advocacy, and/or fundraising.

Additional Information


Exempt DC Union F - Salary Range - $73,000 - 80,000

For internal equity, Oxfam America cannot engage in salary negotiations outside of this range.
