Group Procurement has a global responsibility for procurement in Statkraft to ensure that we achieve competitive terms in order to support our growth ambitions. Further, Group Procurement is responsible for implementing efficient procurement processes, systems, methods, and a sustainable and responsible supply chain. The department consists of more than 80 experienced, and highly competent procurement specialists located in 14 countries.

The Category Management team is a strategically oriented unit with responsibility for the relationships with our key suppliers, technological innovation, supplier market analysis and developing category strategies to ensure a competitive edge for Statkraft. It is a central function within Group Procurement with global responsibility.

As Category Analyst, you will support the Category Managers in the development of strategies to drive value creation and sustainability objectives across all critical procurement areas, building synergies with many teams across the company. The role requires a broad perspective, enthusiasm for learning and an analytical and shrewd commercial mindset in order to support the company’s international growth strategy.


Job Description
  • Execute strategic supplier market analyses and participate in projects with tasks including project scoping, designing analysis, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations.
  • Support the Category Managers in developing, presenting and implementing category strategies across all key spend categories. This will involve working in a highly competent team with a broad engagement with experts and decision makers across the company.
  • Contribute to establishing and standardising best practices in category management methodology and its usage of systems & tools.
  • Assist in prequalifying new suppliers, assessing sustainability risks and implement mitigation strategies for key subcategories, as well as developing existing suppliers.
  • Help to follow up on strategic suppliers in terms of key performance indicators, as well as identifying opportunities for commercial leveraging across regional procurement and technical teams.
  • Monitor, analyse and forecast the demand in various categories and anticipate changes to prepare the implementation of category strategies for the medium-long term.
  • Support in reporting category progress and results against commercial and sustainability objectives.

Competence requirements

  • Minimum degree level education in related discipline to business / economics / renewables.
  • Experience of at least 2 years from working with analysis, consultancy or procurement.
  • Experience identifying and managing risks by type of supplier, geography, ESG topics and corporate requirements.
  • Fluency in English required and a Nordic language strongly preferred, other languages are beneficial.

The position will be based at the Statkraft headquarters in Lilleaker, Oslo. The Category Manager reports to the VP Category Management and New Energy Solutions in Group Procurement (based in London).
